The Encompas Care Managers are the primary contact for OPPA members who reach out to the program for support. The Care Managers are each member’s service navigator, their mental health services advocate, and someone who will regularly check-in with them. 

Lee-Anne B.
Armed with advanced education, Lee-Anne is well qualified to deal with high-stress situations, de-escalation and suicide prevention. She holds a degree in social work and is trained in LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST), and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute). Lee-Anne also has a strong background in customer service and diversity training.

For over ten years, Lee-Anne provided mental health support to an Ontario school board, and she volunteers with Kids Help Phone Canada as a crisis text counsellor.

Krista G
Krista brings a tremendous amount of highly relevant training and experience to Encompas. She graduated from Law Enforcement with honours and then studied emergency communications. Krista has worked as a 911 Emergency Communications Officer, and for the past ten years, she has successfully managed First Responders claims cases.

Her experience and training in high-stress situations, suicide prevention and other mental health issues are powerful assets to the team. Krista is continuing her education in mental health care.

Stefania T.
Stefania brings seven years’ social services experience to Encompas. She has worked fulfilling both case management and intake duties for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Among other qualifications, Stefania holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Family and Community Social Services and a post-graduate certificate in addictions and mental health. She is also trained in mental health first aid and LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

Mariana R.
Mariana graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a minor in Spanish, a Certificate in Autism and Behavioral Sciences, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Counselling Psychology. Her experience, education, and passion with helping people experiencing mental health and developmental disabilities is valued and appreciated by her clients.
Marina-Gabrielle C.
Marina-Gabrielle has worked with adults and children in crisis for three years and is certified in the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and Psychological First Aid (from Johns Hopkins University).

Marina-Gabrielle earned an Honours diploma in Mental Health and Addictions from Ontario’s Canadore College. During her time at Canadore, she was honoured to facilitate therapeutic groups for the Canadore Pride Group.

Her education and experience make her a valuable addition to the Encompas team.

Jim L.
Jim earned a B.A. Hons in Psychology from the University of Toronto and has worked with employees with mental health conditions and other medical illnesses for six years.

Trained specifically in supporting first responders, Jim has been an invaluable resource to OPPA members since the inception of the Encompas program. His experience and expertise will continue to be a positive force for the team.

Dr Flor Guzman
Flor joined Encompas from the Dominican Republic, where she worked in public and private healthcare systems as a medical doctor. She held other roles, including Country Program Manager for Health Care NGO. Along with her degree from medical school, Flor also earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration.

She worked as a Personal Injury Coordinator in Canada prior to joining Encompas. Flor’s exceptional education, knowledge and experience are an extraordinary benefit to the Encompas program.

Lynn A.
Lynn’s degree in Sociology and Psychology, her diploma as a Pharmacy Technician, and her continuing education in Integrated Disability Management and Occupational Health and Safety support her in her role as a Crisis and Communication Specialist and Case Manager with Encompas.
Laura D.
Laura brings to her role a powerful understanding of the dynamics of health and wellbeing. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science Kinesiology degree and a post-graduate certificate in mental health and disability management. Laura is also certified in non-violent crisis intervention, SAFE Talk Suicide Prevention, mental health first aid, and Motivational Interviewing.

Gloria G.
Gloria has several years’ experience working in client-facing roles, delivering outstanding customer service working with diverse populations.

To pursue her current career, Gloria earned a Bachelor of Arts – Honours Psychology degree and a post-graduate certificate in research analysis. Through her education, she became a practitioner of EBM or Evidence-Based Decision Making, which uses three major components for medical decision making: 1) the best external evidence, 2) individual practitioner’s clinical expertise, and 3) patients’ preference.

Gloria is a proactive contributor to the Encompas team.

Christine W.
Christine, a Registered Nurse for 19 years, has specialized in mental health and addictions for the past 10 years. She is trained in non-violent crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and has extensive experience in supporting clients that are dealing with high stress situations. Christine has a bachelors degree in Nursing and has worked with first responders for her entire career. Her history of being and working with first responders and appreciating the stress they have enables her to be empathetic, supportive, and helpful to her clients.
Kaleigh S.
Kaleigh is a Care Manager with Encompass providing mental health support and coordination for the OPPA. She began her journey into the mental health field at the University of Toronto, completing a Specialist degree in Mental Health (HBSc) and then moving onto a post-graduate certification in trauma and crisis interventions. She is currently completing her Master’s degree at Yorkville University in Counselling Psychology with the goal of becoming a registered psychotherapist. Previous to working with Encompas she spent years working in the congregate living setting with individuals with chronic mental health diagnoses, and has specific training and experience with Schizophrenia, and those experiencing psychosis following trauma. Combining her work in the inpatient and outpatient setting, her view of mental health care is a holistic one, with the aim of providing client-centered care. Giving clients autonomy, empathy, understanding and a safe space to discuss their mental health are the cornerstones of how she bases her interactions and work in the Encompas program.
Phylicia C.
Phylicia has a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Psychology, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health and has trained in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Applied Suicide Intervention, Opioid Overdose Education, Prevention & Response, and Psychosocial First Aid. I addition she works and volunteers across multiple contexts within the Mental Health field that allow her to gain experience working with diverse populations in varying capacities. Her education and employment background has given her extensive experience working with various mental health challenges, providing crisis and de-escalation support, and completing resource referrals.
