Josh offers psychotherapy services in Toronto. As someone who cares deeply about many issues that impact on mental health and well being, he has spent close to a decade providing therapeutic support for individuals and families. As a therapist, Josh take a strengths-based approach to his work. This means that he believes that all people are capable of achieving meaningful change in their lives, and that he identifies (and builds upon) his clients’ existing skills, values and supports to help them work toward that change.
Josh is a Registered Social Worker, with degrees in Social Work (MSW, Carleton University), Education (BEd, University of Toronto) and Psychology (BAH, Queen’s University). He works from an affirming, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed perspective. As he doesn’t believe there is a one size fits all approach to therapy, he tailors his work to the goals and individual preferences of his clients. Josh has had experience and training in various counselling approaches, including solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy and emotion focused family therapy (to name just a few). While he has had experience supporting clients of all ages in dealing with a wide variety of issues, the bulk of his work has been in helping people navigate and health through challenges like anxiety, depression, family conflict and a host of issues related to traumatic experiences.
