Michael Wade (He/Him)
Michael Wade practices counselling and psychotherapy in Napanee, Ontario, and serves the communities of Napanee, Kingston, Belleville, and Prince Edward County. He is registered in Ontario and provides individual therapeutic services both in-person and virtually to residents across the province. Michael holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) through the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Michael has specific training in Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). He brings over 10 years of experience in the mental health and human services field, as well as prior experience in law enforcement and as a First Responder. This background gives him a deep understanding of work-related stress, operational injuries, and the challenges that come with navigating their impact on various aspects of life.
He has experience supporting clients with concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotion regulation difficulties, relationship issues, social isolation, gender and sexual identity exploration, loss, and trauma. In his work, Michael seeks to help clients integrate all parts of themselves using a strengths-based and holistic perspective. He places emphasis on understanding how environmental, social, and cultural factors shape a client’s struggles and influence their responses.
By taking an integrative approach to therapy, Michael aims to help clients create meaningful and lasting changes across all areas of their lives. He is also an LGBTQIA2+ affirmative therapist and offers specialized expertise in working with LGBTQIA2+ individuals.
