Patricia Thompson
Patricia is an experienced Adult, Adolescent, Family, and Couples Counsellor who holds a Master’s degree in Counselling. She is a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). Patricia has extensive training in individual and group psychotherapy and a strong clinical background gained through years of work in community organizations, hospitals, and government services. She has supported individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and other significant emotional and psychological challenges.
In her practice, Patricia has developed a deep understanding of the unique pressures faced by first responders and their families. She helps clients manage the effects of trauma exposure, compassion fatigue, and the emotional toll of high-stress occupations. Patricia also works with partners and family members to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and build resilience in the face of the demands that first responder life can place on home and family. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and practical—offering tools to navigate both immediate challenges and long-term emotional wellbeing.
Patricia draws from a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. She tailors her approach to each individual’s needs, helping clients move from feeling stuck to creating meaningful change and achieving their personal definition of success. With compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to empowerment, Patricia supports each client’s journey toward balance, healing, and fulfillment.
