Warren Elardo
B.A., M.S.W., R.S.W., Registered Social Worker
Warren is passionate about helping children, adults, and couples who are experiencing mental health struggles and/or difficulties that intersect with their gender identity, immigration status, cultural identity, and life stage. Warren’s approach and belief is that everyone experiences mental health struggles differently and that your life history and experience shape how your respond to therapy and your therapist.
Warren uses a wide range of scientific knowledge, that is evidence-based and scientifically proven. This includes narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, neuroscience, cognitive-behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and solution-focused therapy. Most importantly, his approach begins with the theory that you are knowledgeable, that you bring wisdom to the therapy, that creating new knowledge begins on top of what you already know, and that you are the expert of your own life. Warren is also a firm believer that you are in charge of where to begin and what to focus on because that is what is most important to you.
Warren has had extensive experience working in hospital settings, children’s mental health agencies, and working with members of the military. He will help you learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals. He recognizes that each person is different with different ways of connecting and he will ensure that you feel safe, comfortable and that therapy goes at your own pace. Warren believes in collaboration to deal with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and life stage transitions. By exploring your thoughts and feelings, you will co-develop tools to manage your stress and relationships with others.
