Jennifer is an experienced therapist with over 15 years of counselling experience, supporting individuals, couples, and families in achieving emotional wellness and resilience. A Registered Social Worker with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, Jennifer has worked extensively in Barrie, Ontario, through her private practice and in collaboration with community agencies such as the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and Simcoe Outreach Services (SOS). Her diverse clinical background includes treating anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, and relationship challenges, always emphasizing a client-centered, holistic approach.
Jennifer has developed specialized expertise in supporting first responders and their families, understanding the unique stressors, trauma exposure, and relational impacts that accompany these demanding professions. Through her work with Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and private practice, she provides short-term, goal-oriented, and solution-focused therapy to police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and healthcare professionals. Jennifer helps clients build coping strategies, strengthen family communication, and navigate the emotional toll of high-stress careers. Her compassionate, grounded approach fosters resilience not only in first responders but also in their loved ones who experience the ripple effects of occupational trauma.
In her practice, Jennifer draws on evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Imago Relationship Therapy to support positive change and relational healing. She continues to enhance her expertise through ongoing professional development in narrative and brief solution-focused therapies. Deeply committed to her clients’ growth, Jennifer provides a safe and supportive space where first responders and their families can process experiences, reconnect, and restore balance in their personal and professional lives.
