Christina Mills (She/Her)
Christina is a warm, empathetic, and highly experienced social worker with over 20 years of diverse clinical practice, particularly in the areas of health and mental health. She has extensive experience working in critical care environments, including emergency, intensive care, and trauma units. Christina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Social Work, a Master of Social Work, and a PhD in Social Work. Her professional focus centers on trauma and bereavement, and she is both a researcher and published author in these fields, serving as a peer reviewer for international journals on death, dying, and bereavement.
Deeply passionate about supporting those affected by trauma, suicide, line-of-duty death, and wartime bereavement, Christina brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. Raised in a military and firefighting family and married to a retired officer, she possesses a unique understanding of the challenges faced by first responders, members of the Canadian Forces, and their families.
Christina works collaboratively with clients, tailoring treatment to their individual goals and needs. She draws upon a range of evidence-based, trauma-informed modalities and holds advanced certifications in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Her compassionate and skilled approach helps clients navigate healing, resilience, and growth following life’s most difficult experiences.
