
Crona Airgid (She, Her)
Crona Airgid completed her undergraduate degree, an Honours B.A. in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology, from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario (1996). She also earned a two-year Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University (2000) in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Crona has 25 years of counselling experience and provides individual and group counselling for children, teens, and adults. She also offers couples counselling. Crona enjoys facilitating a variety of groups on a regular basis. These include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Group, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Group, Caregiver Support Group, Parenting the Adolescent Group, Meditation Group, and Cancer Support Group. In the past, she has facilitated groups such as Anger Management for Children, Separation and Divorce Group for adults, and, more recently, a Couples Therapy Group. Crona also has experience answering a 24-hour crisis line for teens and parents. She has been featured in various print publications, including an interview for Social Work Week in March 2023. Crona is passionate about learning and continuously takes workshops to remain current in her practice. Her most recent training includes certification as a Hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotherapy (October 2024). Other significant trainings include becoming a certified yoga instructor (January 2024) to further integrate holistic and wellness perspectives into her care through wellness retreats. Additional training highlights include Advanced CBT, DBT, Advanced Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and personal growth training with Tony Robbins and Brendon Burchard. Crona is a Registered Social Worker (R.S.W.) at the Master’s level with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
I am an experienced counsellor specializing in supporting the mental health of those in policing and first responder roles. With 24 years of dedicated practice and a history of employment with the RCMP, I understand the unique challenges these professionals face. My expertise includes working with trauma, addictions, and PTSD resulting from these high-stress roles. Additionally, I have a background in child and adolescent crisis services, providing individual and family counselling, as well as responding to crisis line calls. I offer confidential and judgment-free counselling for individuals in policing and first responder roles. Whether addressing the complex dynamics within couples and families or providing personalized support for individuals, my approach is tailored to meet each client\\\'s unique needs. In my work, I focus on identifying my clients’ strengths, helping them utilize those strengths, and building additional resilience. I am committed to fostering emotional well-being within the policing and first responder communities. My comprehensive approach recognizes the multifaceted nature of the challenges faced by those in high-pressure professions. My mission is to be a steadfast ally to those who dedicate their lives to ensuring our safety and well-being.
