John Pilgrim

John has his Masters of Social Work degree and is currently a licensed member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. John also has a Masters of Science Education degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English and a two-year diploma in Developmental Service Work. John is a current member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and a past member of The Ontario College of Teachers.
John is a current member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), and the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA), presently serving as a member of the CADDRA Advocacy Committee. John has studied Polyvagal Theory under the guidance of Dr. Stephen Porges and is a certified Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Acoustic System Provider. John views ongoing and broad education in trauma, anxiety, depression and grief/loss as essential to providing tailored therapeutic approaches to his clients.
John has worked for many years in the field of ADHD and Executive Functioning issues with children, adolescents and adults. John also works extensively with victims of Motor Vehicle Accidents and their families and concurrent health care providers, involving issues of PTSD, grief, loss and cognitive, physical and the quality-of-life changes that can occur. John currently works with military veterans facing life challenges.
As an educator, counsellor and therapist, John has worked with all ages of people to help reduce the impact of issues negatively affecting them and helped them to discover and pursue more fulfilling lives. John provides a highly positive, relaxed, strength-based, educational and thought-changing style of therapy in a safe, respectful and engaging environment.
John brings a “whole-person” approach in working with people to achieve their goal of living with more balance, purpose and fulfillment.
