Marsha L. Hibbert is a therapist in York Region who works with children, youth, adults and families. Marsha holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) from Ryerson Polytechnic University, and a Master of Social Work degree from The University of Toronto (MSW) specializing in Clinical Social Work with children and their families. Marsha is a Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist with good standing with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Services Workers. Marsha is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and member and on the Board of Directors for The Canadian Association of Psychoanalytic Child Therapists. Marsha has over 15+ years of social work and therapeutic experience working within the Child Welfare arena, as a Clinical Investigator for the Office of the Child’s Lawyer. Marsha specializes in Child psychoanalytic psychotherapy and parenting support. In addition to this, Marsha recognizes the impact of anti-black racism and systemic barriers to people of the global majority. Therefore Marsha brings an anti-racism and anti-oppressive lens to her practice, and welcomes diversity, encourages individuals to speak about racial trauma, their cultures and racial identities. Marsha is a compassionate, non-judgemental and empathic person, who welcomes all people to her practice. Through the use of integrated modalities such as mindfulness, somatic, trauma-informed and psychoanalytic psychotherapies. Marsha is able to provide a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions honestly and without shame. Marsha believes that when people are able develop trust in the therapeutic relationship, they have an opportunity to gain insight into themselves and how they relate to others. As a result, people often develop a better sense of self-security, self-confidence and begin to live a life with purpose and balance. I look forward to travelling with you on your journey.
