
Michael Wade (He/Him)
Michael Wade practices counselling and psychotherapy in Napanee, Ontario, and serves Napanee, Kingston, Belleville, and Prince Edward County. He is registered in Ontario and provides individual therapeutic services both in-person and virtually to Ontario residents. Michael has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) through his membership with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW). Michael has specific training in Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Michael has over 10 years of experience in the mental health and human services field, as well as previous experience in law enforcement and being a First Responder. He understands the difficulties of coping with work-related stress and operational injuries, and now seeks to help others to navigate these issues and understand how these injuries can impact various parts of a person’s life. Michael has experience helping clients with issues related to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotion regulation, issues with their relationship(s), social isolation, gender and sexual identity, loss, and trauma. In his work, he seeks to help clients integrate themselves using a strengths-based, holistic perspective, seeking to facilitate a better understanding of how environmental, social, and cultural factors contribute to their individual problems and chosen responses. By employing this integrative approach to therapy, he finds it better assists clients in making positive and lasting changes within all spheres of their lives. Michael is also an LGBTQIA2+ Affirmative therapist, who offers specific expertise in working with LGBTQIA2+ individuals.
