Rebecca Miller
MSW, RSW, Registered Social Worker
Rebecca Offers Counselling and Psychotherapy Services Virtually and In-Person
Rebecca practices counselling and psychotherapy as a social worker with a Master’s degree from Wayne State University. She has over 17 years experience working with both adults and children around issues of grief, anxiety, sexuality, depression, and life transitions. Rebecca strives to create a safe and comfortable environment to explore interpersonal patterns, build resilience, learn new skills, and do the work necessary to attain a healthy, balanced life. Both in-person and online sessions can be accommodated.
Particular areas of interest include counselling first responders and their family members who deal with unique challenges related to confidentiality, family and work stressors, dealing with multi-layered bureaucracies, and complex trauma. Rebecca has extensive experience working with paramedics, police officers, firefighters, Canada Border Service officers, and employees of correctional facilities. Rebecca uses cognitive behavioural and somatic approaches to helping first responders heal from traumatic experiences. Family members of first responders also need significant support so that they can stay healthy and thrive in the family unit.
