April Colquhoun (She/Her)
April is a Registered Social Worker based in Guelph, Ontario, and has been in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) since 2005. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Social Development Studies. With over seven years of experience in acute care hospital settings, including work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, April brings a strong foundation of clinical expertise and compassion to her practice.
She provides counselling to individuals and couples, working collaboratively with clients to create balance and enhance overall well-being. April supports firefighters, police officers, and their families in navigating the unique challenges associated with first responder life. Her areas of interest include neurodiversity—particularly ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and dementia—as well as caregiving, parenting, and relationship support.
April helps clients address concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, workplace challenges, and difficulties managing emotions. Using a kind and compassionate approach, she fosters a safe and welcoming space where clients can explore personal growth and build coping skills that promote harmony and joy. Counselling is available both in person and virtually through a PHIPA-approved platform.
Every other week: Wednesday evenings, Friday evenings, Saturday AM /PM AND online AM/PM Mondays, Tuesday + Thursday PM
