April practises counselling and therapy in Guelph, ON, as a Registered Social Worker and has been in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) since 2005. April has over 7 years experience working in acute care hospital settings; including through the Covid-19 pandemic. April has experience supporting fire fighters, police officers and their families through the specialized challenges that may arise within first responder life. April holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Social Development Studies. April offers counselling to individuals and couples, working collaboratively with clients to support the creation of balance in their lives. She helps clients foster greater harmony and joy by enhancing coping skills and reducing stress. April’s areas of interest include neurodiversity, with a focus on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and dementia, as well as supporting caregivers, couples, and parents. She also supports clients with: Anxiety Caregiving Creating Balance Depression Emotions Management Enhancing Confidence Low Self-Esteem Mindfulness Parenting Personal Growth Relationships Stress Workplace Stress Work and Family Balance April creates a safe and welcoming space using a kind and compassionate approach to help clients transition toward their personal goals. She provides support both in-person and virtually through a PHIPA-approved system.
