Janice Dinsmore-Czechowsky
This therapist practices under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist or Registered Psychological Associate. If you are seeking supervised psychological services, an initial appointment must first be made with the supervisor to confirm appropriateness of fit.
Jan brings over 30 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional, relational, and psychological challenges. With a Doctoral Degree in Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care, she is a Registered Psychotherapist, a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Clinical Supervisor in Addictions Counselling, and a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor through the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation.
Throughout her extensive career, Jan has dedicated much of her work to providing trauma-informed care and counselling to first responders and their families, both nationally and internationally. She understands the complex and cumulative effects of trauma, operational stress, and the unique challenges faced by those who serve in police, fire, paramedic, military, and other emergency service roles. Jan’s approach helps first responders process critical incidents, manage stress, rebuild resilience, and strengthen family and relational connections that can be impacted by the demands of their work.
Whether working in rehabilitation programs, community-based settings, or providing clinical supervision to other professionals, Jan’s practice is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to healing. She integrates her expertise in trauma recovery, addiction counselling, and family systems therapy to offer a supportive and collaborative environment where clients can recover balance, restore hope, and reconnect with what matters most in their lives.
