Lesley Hoffman profile photo

Hello, I’m Lesley Hoffman. I have been practicing counselling and psychotherapy for over 15 years. I am passionate about helping people do the hard work of better understanding themselves and their partners, and creating a life they love.

I have a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Queen’s University. I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers of Ontario (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

I offer virtual counselling and psychotherapy services to individual adults and couples. I have experience working with First Responders in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, specifically with Emergency Medical Services and Fire Department employees and their family members.

Other areas of expertise include:

  • Relationships, including Couples Therapy
  • Communication
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Workplace Stress
  • Work-Life Balance
  • Self-Esteem
  • Personal Growth

I strongly believe in your right to self-determination and personal choice. Working together you and I will get a clear understanding of the issues you want to address in therapy, identify your related goals for positive change, and develop a treatment plan to help get you there. While I will thoughtfully tailor your therapy to your unique needs and goals and what you bring to each session, the therapy I provide is through a biopsychosocial lens and is always person-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based and informed by evidence-based approaches, including: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Solution-Focused Therapy; Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT); Mindfulness-Based Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Attachment Theory; Neuroscience; Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

You will regularly leave sessions with something tangible to apply to your daily life: something to think about, something to try, something to read, or another tool to begin making the small changes that add up to big transformation.
